Our story
Whilst searching adventure, parties and cultural discoveries on a road trip through Thailand, Benjamin Hamon stumbled upon the magic of sky lanterns. When he returned to the other side of the world, Benjamin started looking for sky lanterns for his own wedding, but with little success. This gave him the inspiration to offer the magic of sky lanterns to the whole of Europe, and led him to found Rubee Company and the SkyLantern Original brand in 2007.
Since the launch of the French website, Ben's lanterns have been a flyaway success, appearing at all kinds of events, particularly weddings, where releasing lanterns into the sky is a symbol of happiness and good luck for the bride and groom. Over the following years, SkyLantern went from strength to strength to become Europe's leader in sky lanterns.
Today, we're proud to have been the company who made sky lanterns take off in the European market, where previously the magic of this Asian tradition was known only to a privileged few.
